I grew up in a Christian family and went to church every Sunday and Wednesday and Victory Assembly of God. My grandmother teaches Sunday school and my father is a Royal Rangers Commander. As I grew older I joined the Missionettes and this is where I really being to devote my life to the Lord and Savior. As a Missionette I memorized scripture verses, volunteered for the church, and read the complete NIV Bible. The Missionette program provided me with an opportunity to make friends and fellowship with other Christian girls my age and I have kept these friendships ever since. After I graduated from the Misssionettes program and became an honor star, I knew that volunteering for the church and giving back to the community was something God placed in my heart to do. I joined the youth group and was involved in the Fine Arts program. I helped to choreograph and perform in the human videos. The most impactful event that I volunteered for at Victory was a summer camp, called Circle J, that provided the inner city children an opportunity to hear about Jesus and to give them a safe and loving environment to play games and fellowship with each other. As a volunteer for Circle J, I taught the children the importance of Jesus and his unconditional love and strengthened my own personal relationship with him as well. As a Southeastern student, I intend to maximize my relationship with Jesus to the fullest potential it can be and to make relationships with others that will help me achieve this goal. From the education program, I hope to become a teacher that can spread the word and the love from Jesus Christ to as many students as I can. As a teacher, with a degree from Southeastern, I plan to continue to give back to my community as I feel that is my calling from God. Teaching children and giving them the knowledge to accelerate their life in the healthiest Christian way as possible is how I feel I should help my community.
